Jonathon Antoine is just 17 years old, still at school, slightly overweight and a tad shy.
But while he may not look like your typical music star – boy can this kid sing.
The opera singer knocked the socks off audience members and judges in the current season of Britain's Got Talent.
It has only been three days since the classically trained opera singer and fellow contestant Charlotte Jaconelli appeared live on the program.
But the TV network was quick to share their success with viewers around the world on social networking site YouTube.
So far the video has gained more than 1.1 million viewers – no easy feat on a site that regularly updates fresh content from around the world.
Host Simon Cowell was clearly impressed by the performance and told audience members that Charlotte was good but Jonathon was by far the more superior singer, describing him as "unbelievable" and a "future star".
He also suggested that the performer dump his singing partner in order to progress in the competition. However, ever faithful to his friend Antoine declined this particular piece of advice.
Other videos featuring Antoine have also gained in popularity, with his version of Ave Maria attracting in excess of 150,000 views since it was first uploaded on 30 November 2010.
The British media has been quick to draw comparisons between the young star and previous show winner Susan Boyle, with both singers experiencing overnight success due to strong performances on the popular television program.
In case you missed the show, you can still catch Jonathon and his singing partner Charlotte Jaconelli on YouTube and see the performance that catapulted the duo to almost instant stardom.
