Hi and welcome to another content marketing insight from Castleford Media.
With the Christmas shutdown approaching it’s a good time to start thinking about your web and social strategy for 2014.
One of our recommendations for the new year is to find room in your content marketing plan for Google+.
Google’s social media platform has been a slow burner when it comes to finding traction with users, but it’ll be essential for online marketers next year. Here’s why:
First up you have local search. If your business has a physical presence then a Google+ local page is the surest way to get among the top search results.
Second, you have the super fast indexing. Whatever your website is for you’ll want people to be able to find your new content as soon as possible. Sharing it on your Google+ page is a great way to achieve that.
Our third and final reason is authorship. Google+ lets you put a name and face on your authoritative content, setting it apart from the competition. We’re expecting authorship to have a bigger impact on search results next year.
