2 quick tips for better blogging [VIDEO]
If you write your company’s blog you’ll always be on the lookout for new content ideas.
And as more and more brands become publishers, it’s getting increasingly competitive out there. So here are a couple of tips to help put your blog on the map in 2014:
First is what we like to call “sweating your content assets”. When you create a great piece of content, you need to think about how much value you get out of it.
We see lots of websites that have invested in high-quality, in-depth whitepapers and case studies, but then miss the opportunity to mine that high value content for new blog posts, social media updates and even email campaigns.
“Sweating” those whitepapers would not only get them in front of more people, but it would also give you lots of great new content to share and promote.
Our second tip is to seek out the social savvy employees in your business. A lot of companies have people who are real social mavens but never get the chance to show what they can do in a work environment.
Use these people to generate new content and to promote your existing content via their own social media profiles.
We expect genuine, active personal profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter and particularly Google+ to become considerably more valuable for search this year.
