Charlie Sheen seeks Twitter intern

Ex-Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen has been the subject of many tweets since his headline-making antics began at the end of last month – and when the actor set up his own account on the micro-blogging site at the beginning of March, he set a new Guinness world record for being the first person to attract one million followers in just over 24 hours.

At the time of writing, Sheen had more than 2.08 million followers (and counting!) on Twitter, where he has posted 76 short messages through the site under the username @charliesheen.

His most frequently-used phrases – posted using Twitter-savvy hashtags, of course – include #tigerblood, #winning and #teamsheen – all often appear in the site’s trending topics.

Now, it appears that maintaining Sheen’s Twitter account is a full-time job – and he is looking for a summer intern to help him with his social media strategy.

He tweeted a link to a job posting on, where he describes his dream candidate as a “social media savvy individual” who will “work closely with Charlie Sheen in leveraging his social network”.

The ad begins: “Do you have #TigerBlood? Are you all about #Winning? Can you #PlanBetter than anyone else? If so, we want you on #TeamSheen as our social media #TigerBloodIntern!”

While Sheen represents a Twitter extreme, he does provide an interesting lesson in building a successful online brand – frequent updates and interesting links keep his fans coming back for more.
