Get ‘pinspired’ this Christmas: Festive cheer with Pinterest
If you're in need of Christmas gift ideas, inspiration for decorations or good ol' traditional recipes then Pinterest is the number one spot for all your festive needs.
The website is constantly updated with fresh and original content, generating a huge list of ideas to keep you inspired throughout the Christmas season.
You can create specialised 'boards' pinning your favourite brandy snap and hot chocolate recipes to a Christmas food board, mason jar candles and tinsel ideas to a decorations board and other festive content to a board of your choice.
Pinterest is also great for getting gift ideas – whether it be in finding the top technology gadget or getting inspiration for creating your own Christmas crafts to give to friends and family.
Gift searching on Pinterest is made easier with a special tool announced for the festive holidays, with 'secret boards' now available.
Announced on the Pinterest Blog on November 8, users are now able to create three secret boards, pinning present ideas and other Christmas plans which they want to keep hidden.
This makes it easy to keep track of ideas, while most importantly keeping them under wraps!
Pinterest is also providing more Christmas ideas on their blog with the '30 Days of Pinspiration'.
This will have pinners, brands and non-profits sharing what inspiration means to them for the next 30 days, with Christmas traditions, styles of gifting, cooking, decorating and entertaining ideas, craft activities and general tips all covered.
Any company selling a product should put this growing website to use, with an infographic from Lemon.Ly stating that daily users have increased by more than 145 per cent since the start for of 2012 and that Pinterest is generating "more referral traffic" to websites than YouTube, Google Plus and LinkedIn combined.
The whole idea of the website is to share content, with people pinning items they like to their board – so your product has a high potential of reaching hundreds and even thousands of people!
