It’s all about the Google+ Hangouts with the Obamas
It was only last week (February 14) that President Barack Obama held a Google Plus 'Fireside Hangout' in a question and answer session following his State of the Union speech, but the First Lady also seems to be jumping in on the Hangout buzz!
In a few days time, Michelle Obama will join her "first-ever" Fireside Hangout to discuss Let's Move, her initiative to ensure that American children grow up healthy.
On March 4, the First Lady will be joined by Kelly Ripa, co-host of daytime talk show LIVE with Kelly and Michael, and families around America in the Fireside Hangout.
Let's Move involves "five pillars" which include creating a healthy start for children, empowering parents and caregivers, providing health food in schools, improving access to healthy and affordable foods, and increasing physical activity.
Beyonce and Swizz Beatz released a song to promote the campaign called Let's Move! Flash Workout, which saw the Grammy-award winning star dancing in a school cafeteria with children.
The Let's Move initiative was launched three years ago, with communities across America working together to improve the health of their children.
"This year, the First Lady is using Google Plus to celebrate the anniversary of Let's Move! and to connect with communities on Google Plus who are passionate about healthy eating, fitness and parenting," Google Product Marketing manager Ria Tobaccowala posted today (February 21).
Michelle Obama's Fireside Hangout will go live on the White House Google Plus Page or Let's Move YouTube channel at 11:10 ET on March 4.
Google Plus' Hangout tool allows people to interact with friends, families and communities that share the same interests, as well as musicians and celebrities.
The Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am is one of a number of notable names who have held a Hangout with fans, with Entourage actor Adrian Grenier also jumping on the Hangout bandwagon from his kitchen.
