Oprah talks Aussie adventure on Twitter
Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey took to Twitter today to lead a live "tweetup" with her millions of fans.
The subject of conversation was Oprah's 2010 visit to Australia – and she was so full of praise for the land Down Under that her comments have been trending topics on Twitter all afternoon. In fact, her "tweetup" dominated Twitter's trending topics all over the world as she gushed about her experience.
Taking questions from her followers about her experience, Oprah discussed the detailed preparations needed to bring her audience of 302 "ultimate fans" to Australia, as well as her visit to Uluru.
"It was beyond moving, magical," she tweeted, adding that the highlight of the journey was being presented with beads by Aboriginal elders.
Oprah's group climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, visited the Great Barrier Reef, spent time on Hamilton Island and made an appearance in Melbourne's Federation Square during their December trip.
Other trending topics on Twitter this afternoon include the death of celebrated author Diana Wynne Jones, actress Amy Adams – who will play Lois Lane in the new film Superman: Man of Steel – and the hashtag #bornthisday, a happy birthday message to singer Lady Gaga who is celebrating her 25th year.
