SMX Sydney – Day 1
As we mentioned yesterday, the Castleford team is at SMX Sydney this week – and one day in, we're really enjoying all the conference has to offer.
The event has a smaller, more intimate atmosphere than last month's ad:tech Sydney, but there are no shortage of excellent speakers.
Today, we spotted search engine optimisation guru Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz before he delivered his presentation on the differences between Google and Bing. His blog is required reading in the Castleford Media office, so this was a pretty exciting sighting.
Searchengineland.com editor in chief Danny Sullivan – another favourite in our office – delivered this morning's keynote and Dennis Goedebuure, SEO director of eBay was on hand this afternoon to speak about the specific challenges facing large businesses when it comes to search.
Not to be outdone, Castleford's own Adam Barber took to the stage at the Online Marketer Boot Camp to discuss content creation for search. If you missed his presentation or want a refresher, drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet at us (@castlefordmedia) and we'll get a PDF to you.
We're looking forward to another productive day tomorrow. Content manager Kaitlyn Critchley loves all things social media and can't wait to see Rand Fishkin take to the stage again to discuss Social Media for SEO and Link Building, as well as Danny Sullivan's Twitter, Real Time Search and Real Time SEO session.
The Castleford team will also be available at booth #5 all day – feel free to drop by, say hi and learn more about our custom news content! We'll also be covering the event in real-time via Twitter (watch for the hashtag #omxsyd) so you don't miss any of the excitement.
