SMX Sydney – Day 1

As we mentioned yesterday, the Castleford team is at SMX Sydney this week – and one day in, we're really enjoying all the conference has to offer.

The event has a smaller, more intimate atmosphere than last month's ad:tech Sydney, but there are no shortage of excellent speakers.

Today, we spotted search engine optimisation guru Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz before he delivered his presentation on the differences between Google and Bing. His blog is required reading in the Castleford Media office, so this was a pretty exciting sighting. editor in chief Danny Sullivan – another favourite in our office – delivered this morning's keynote and Dennis Goedebuure, SEO director of eBay was on hand this afternoon to speak about the specific challenges facing large businesses when it comes to search.

We're looking forward to another productive day tomorrow.
