Google has been working hard lately to make its services more localised, meaning the top search results for certain queries will often favour businesses physically near to you over larger, nationwide brands.

In its latest bid to boost local listings, Google has enabled businesses to connect their Google+ accounts with their location on Google Maps.

If you connect the two, information about your business such as your location, opening hours and reviews will show up on your Google+ page.

This could give local businesses a real advantage to draw more traffic to their stores.

This isn’t the only advantage of creating a Google+ account for your business. It also allows you to promote your content through Google+ Authorship and will also get your new content indexed a lot faster.
