VIDEO: How GIFs can help market your business
Content Marketing Survey May 2014
In the past few years GIFs have become incredibly popular. In fact, the majority of content found on sites such as Buzzfeed and Tumblr are GIFs.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with what the kids are doing these days, GIFs are brief, basic animations or static images, often borrowed from popular movies.
So for those of you looking for creative new ways to engage your audience, communicate short messages or liven up your social media, creating some GIFs of your own or sharing GIFs you find around the web could be a great tactic.
At a recent meeting held by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Tumblr’s Creative Technologist Max Sebela spoke of the growing marketing potential of GIFS.
Sebela said GIFs have become a vital part of daily activity on Tumblr, and a great way to add colour and personality to the internet.
Sebela said they have recently seen many marketers jump on the GIF bandwagon, using the tool to tell their brand’s story.
Whether you pronounce it with a ‘G’ or a ‘J’, there’s no denying that GIFs have turned into a creative new way for brands to connect with consumers.
