Mobile Advertising makes up 25 percent of ad spend [VIDEO]
While most marketers are well aware that a significant chunk of internet users are active on mobile devices, more marketers are putting their money where their mouth is by investing their advertising dollars in mobile search and display ads.
According to new data released by IAB, US companies spent $12.5 billion on mobile advertising throughout 2014, making up 25 percent of all online ads, a significant jump from the 17 percent in 2013.
However, mobile advertising still has a long way to go to outrun Search advertising, which accounts for $19 billion and 37 percent of overall ad spend.
Down here in Australia, we are seeing a similar interest in mobile advertising. April statistics by IAB Australia found that 41 percent of Australian marketers said mobile advertising plays a significant role in their marketing strategy.
