Now Pinterest has become an even more effective marketing channel by partnering up with Shopify.

Shopify is an e-commerce platform used by over 100,000 stores, and a large chunk of its traffic reportedly comes from Pinterest.

Now consumers have the opportunity to purchase items on Pinterest through Shopify. Pinterest has also created “Rich Pins”, which provides more information about products, such as prices and product availability.

This partnership shows how effective social networking sites have become as marketing tools, and in the future we can expect many more partnerships like this to take place.
