Email campaigns are a great way to remind people about your business and encourage them to come visit your site again. And while it may not be the newest or sexiest marketing tactic, email remains a common feature of a lot of content marketing strategies.

Although this popular marketing method shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon, its audience might soon change.

Mobile users have proven to be highly-responsive to emails, with 66 per cent of mobile users opening emails, more than double the rate for desktop users, according to Movable Ink.

A recent study by ExactTarget found that 95 per cent of people who signed up for an email notification said they find them useful.

The study also found more than 80 per cent of consumers who subscribed to emails from brands made a purchase of something they received within six months.

This definitely applies to the Australian market where mobile makes up more than half of all the average daily unique browsers, according to Nielsen statistics for April.

For website owners, the first step is to make sure your site looks good and works properly on mobile platforms. If it doesn’t, it could be costing you potential subscribers, leads and sales.
