Does Comic Sans bring you out in hives? Do you know the difference between CMYK and RGB?

Of course, as a red-hot graphic designer, you’ll know that there’s more to producing sweet imagery and striking branding than simple font appreciation – but it’s a start. At Castleford, we’re looking for a junior to mid-level graphic designer to join our dynamic team, giving you the chance to display your entire box of tricks across a range of formats. Here’s a little bit about what we do.

Our designers produce high-quality web content for a whole host of different clients across a massive raft of industries, including cement-mixing systems, eco-friendly shipping pallets, the Australian property market and even Antarctic expeditions. We’ve written copy and designed stuff for them all, no niche too small!

A typical day here will see you planning and executing a large array of design products for our clients – infographics, e-book layout and design, social media banners, info images and a whole lot more,

The design work you create will be published on countless websites, social media platforms, and intranets. Literally (and we don’t use that word lightly) thousands of people will see your work when you join us – how cool is that?

About you

  • Ideally, you’ll have plenty of experience with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ample knowledge of UX web design
  • You’ll have a creative and proactive approach to problem solving
  • You’ll have a knack for research alongside an innate graphic design ability
  • It goes without saying, but a positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work to tight deadlines will see you in good stead at Castleford
  • You’ll really care about creating unique, engaging content
  • You’ll have a willingness to listen to feedback, and use it to improve

In this role you’ll:

  • Work with a broad variety of clients, with a whole range of different styles and brand guidelines for you to work with
  • You’ll have ongoing support from a creative, talented team who will help you shape your ideas to become the best they can be
  • You’ll have a large degree of autonomy and creative freedom
  • Publish work for a wide variety of businesses across Australasia (and sometimes further afield)
  • Build and nurture client relationships
  • Collaborate with content marketing strategists and writers to achieve the best outcomes for your clients

Why working here is great:

  • You’re always encouraged to bring your own ideas to the table.
  • You’ll learn loads about SEO, digital marketing, media law and more.
  • Comic Sans is banned
  • We’re based in a modern office in the Auckland CBD. That means we’re really close to tons of bars, shops and restaurants.

You will have enormous arrow-shaped shoes to fill – an independent, original personality and strength of character are definite pluses here. So, if this sounds like the sort of role for you, please send your CV, a brief covering letter and a PDF portfolio with examples of your work to us via our Seek application site here.
